Weekly Update

With Principal Becky Watson

January 25, 2026

Good afternoon Falcon Families!

It is hard to believe that we are beginning the last week of January. This school year is truly flying by. This past week, we surpassed the 100th day of school. Since our school year is 180 days, that means we have completed more than half of the school year. Now is the time to ensure your student is passing and surpassing expectations for their classes. Please reach out today to teachers or your student's counselor if you have questions or concerns on your student's progress. Students who do not pass a core content class (English, Math, Science, or Social Studies) this year, will repeat the class next year. This means one of their elective choices will be removed and the core content class, previously failed, will be added in. But wait!! It is not too late in most cases to pass! Come to school every day, complete your work in class, complete any homework assigned, and study for tests. We are ready to work with students who are committed to working hard and putting forth 100% effort every day. Let's SOAR!

Connectivity Day #3 January 29, 2026

Thursday will be our third Connectivity Day. We will have pep-rally style games throughout the courtyard, as well as the clubs and organizations previously participating. We are excited to welcome Mrs. Gallo to this event!
See the modified schedule below.
A schedule lists school periods and their corresponding times.

School Spirit Run! Join us!

Mark your calendar now for the 5th Annual School Spirit Run! East River has a team and we would love for you and your family to join us!
Register today and join the East River team, as we run/walk through Sea World. This is a fun time as we get healthy too!

Our team has 23 members and we have a goal of 25! Join us!

Falcon Experience!

Join us February 12 for Falcon Experience Night. This night is for rising 9th graders and anyone new to East River. Come and hear about all our school has to offer, get a school tour, and get information about clubs and sports. Save the date and stay tuned for more details.

ATTENTION!

Student IDs are required to be displayed while on campus. Please clip your student id to your backpack at all times. If you lost your ID please go to the media center before or after school to get a new one. Replacement IDs are $5. We have had many students now in compliance with this important safety matter. We want to be sure that our students are safe on campus!

Two lanes to enter!! New traffic pattern.

There are now 2 lanes of traffic entering the school! Please be aware that this pattern is new. The left lane will allow cars to go straight or turn right into the car line for student drop off, and the right lane will turn right into the car line for student drop off only.

Please note that the current signage on East River Falcons Way that indicates the right lane for buses and service vehicles only will be removed soon.

Please be patient and cautious when merging down to one lane. There will continue to be one lane right in front of the school so that students are not walking through traffic when getting dropped off.

The new guard shack will continue to be installed, so there is still some construction. Use caution when driving in the right lane.

Continued reminders for parents and students about our parking lot:

  • If you need to pick up your student between 7:30 am-2:20 pm, you must park and walk in the front office. Please do not park in the fire lane.
  • Parking near the front office is marked for mobility, reserved- for parents of Little Falcons and pick-up outside of the regular hours. Please park there when coming inside the front office.
  • Please do not line up for afternoon dismissal prior to 1:45 pm. It causes traffic congestion, and we already have enough of that.
  • I recommend dropping your student off early, courtyard doors open at 6:45 to avoid morning traffic.
  • I recommend coming about 2:30 pm if you are picking up in the afternoon if you want to avoid the rush of traffic and buses leaving the property.

Thank you for helping us keep our students and faculty safe by adhering to speed limits of 10 mph and following all traffic cones, barricades, and signs in the parking lot.
