The East River Guidance Department is the headquarters for student services. Guidance counselors can assist you in choosing classes, registering for tests, researching scholarships, and preparing for graduation and beyond.

Plan for your future by selecting the right courses in high school. There are specific requirements for obtaining a high school diploma and qualifying for admission to a college or university.

Florida’s Academic Counseling and Tracking for Students, FLVC, is an online student advising system that the Florida Department of Education provides to help students make informed choices about the future.

Schedule Change Request 2019-2020
Below is the link for your student to request a schedule change.  We will keep the link open through Monday.  On Monday we will review the request and start to call in our students to accommodate their request.  Please know that we do not guarantee that your student's schedule will be changed. We base changes on what a student needs academically to graduate and what courses we still have space in.

Please know that we do not that change a student's schedule based on teacher preference, lunch shift preference, or period preference.

We do our very best to accommodate all.  No matter if our student's prefer one course over another, we hope that they still learn in each and every course and use it as a learning experience as they start to make plans for life after high school.

If you have any questions please reach out to your student's guidance counselor.

Schedules will be available to students during the first week of August. Students will have the opportunity to request adjustments to their schedule during first day procedures, but every effort has been made to provide students with accurate schedules prior to the beginning of school.

Reminders:

  • Students should not report to guidance during periods that they have scheduled classes unless they are called down by a counselor.
  • Students can stop by the guidance office before school, after school, or during lunch.
    • If a counselor is not available, an appointment will be scheduled.
  • Other than the need of meeting class size requirements, all schedule changes will be completed by the end of week two of the school year.
